Ian, depends on where you live, the crankcase ventilation system is there for correct engine breathing and should be left operational. If you have a California model with the charcoal canister for fuel vapors, you could probably remove it and let the hoses vent to the atmosphere like the non-cal bikes. If you live in Cal and they decide to inspect bike then you would have to retro fit it and that ould get expensive as the price of thise used parts seems to magicially go up when you really need them,
